1983 Honda CX650
Karen and I did a bit of travelling around on the
CX, mostly through Victoria but also into Southern NSW. It did the job
and never quite let us down, though there were a few corners that
didn't go the way I expected thanks to the bike's longitudinal torque reaction and handling that was slightly odd, somehow.
I
later cobbled together a really rough and basic pack-rack using an old
chair (again). I had to replace the tank because of rust, and I ended
up repainting the whole bike in plain white and fitting a Z1R-style
fairing to make up for the stock one it had lost.
This
shot is taken at Cape Otway on a trip down the Great Ocean Road to the
Twelve Apostles. All my road bikes get ridden on dirt tracks because I can't
stand not knowing where they go.
A
mate borrowed the CX for a few years while I was overseas again and,
well, you know how that goes...
