It worked! The thing actually sounded good. It played in tune all the way up the neck—better than many commercial guitars, and everything held together.
Its tone turned out, not surprisingly, to be quite unique with an amazing bell-like clarity in the treble notes.
The project took an enormous amount of work. Every step had to be carefully checked because of my inexperience, and without the right tools and equipment to do the job, it was all done the slow way. However, the satisfaction in creating something unique and beautiful made the effort seem very worthwhile.
Total cost had been just over $100. Total effort: about six months of fairly dedicated work.
