Craigs Guitar
Signature
It made a great stage guitar with the combination
of piezo and magnetic pickups I had installed, and the ability to mix
the two. I could create a partially accoustic and partially electric
sound through an amplifier. Another strong point was its faithfullness
to pitch when using very high barre chords or capo, something that many
accoustic guitars do poorly. It got a good workout in The
Wild Colonial Boys.
In
the picture below a signature is visible at the top of the guitar's
head (the other head isn't mine). This signature belonged to my grandfather, who died shortly after I was
born. I never met him, but he was a keen woodworker, and I
used his tools and workbench to make this guitar.
Here's to you George!
